Checkup and Examination
A mouth contains a wide variety of oral bacteria. Without a proper and regular oral care routine, those bacteria will cause mouth-breath, gum disease, toothache, etc. To ensure healthy oral, a regular checkup at the Dentist Clinic is recommended.
At the Dentist Clinic, we provide oral checkup, diagnosis and general consultancy with highly experienced dentists. The checkup starts with a rapid x-ray system for more efficient diagnosis, then pain-free scaling experience using a new and advance tool, and finally oral photograph to enhance cavity detection. At the end of check-up, the dentist will discuss with you about your dental health, provide preventive measures and draw a treatment plan where needed.
For good oral health care, you should have dental checkup every 6 months to prevent cavity, calculus, mouth-breath, or any other oral diseases.
Calculus or Tartar is a form of hardened dental plaque. It is caused by the continual accumulation of minerals from saliva on plaque on the teeth. Calculus that develops above the gum line can be especially serious. That’s because the bacteria it harbors may irritate and damage gums. Calculus can be formed easily in the back of lower front teeth and needs to be removed by dental professionals.
Calculus or tartar generally looks like
yellow deposits at the base of your teeth just above the gum line. Some
people form heavy calculus deposits rapidly while others form little or
no mineralized deposits. This is due to differences in the saliva, the
types of plaque bacteria and personal dental care routine. Calculus is
formed constantly. We will find less or thin crust of calculus in those
who have it removed more frequently. The thick crust of calculus will be
challenging and take longer time for the removal and cleaning.
The dentist will use special tools to remove plaque and calculus as much as possible. This needs to be done regularly as calculus is formed constantly from saliva. At The Dentist Clinic we provide a rapid scaling service using a modern equipment “P5 Newtron”. You will find a new, pain-free scaling experience. Your mouth will be photographed for professional diagnosis and to facilitate your understanding of the procedures. With the clarification provided by the dentist, the customer will feel more comfortable in our treatment and take prompt actions towards the calculus. Regular scaling could prevent further damage such as gum disease which is a more complicated treatment and entail higher expenses.
The best way to prevent the buildup of calculus is proper and thorough brushing and flossing at least twice a day. Oral check-up and scaling with experienced professionals every 6 months are also necessary to minimize the calculus.
Filling is a common treatment for cavities; not only that it prevents further tooth decay, it also restores the tooth to be fully functional and in a pleasant condition. To treat a cavity with a filling, the decay must not be too extensive and the gum is healthy.
The decay portion of the tooth is removed by drilling and replaced with a filling. In case that the decay extends to the dentine, a base material may be used before the filling to prevent sensitivity. A shot of local anesthetic may be required to numb the filling area.
- Traditional Fillings include amalgam and gold. Amalgam is ideal for heavy, grinding duty teeth such molars while gold is a more costly and yet most durable material for filling. At The Dentist Clinic, we import high quality material from Nova Metal, Italy to provide best filling results.
- Composite Resin (Tooth-Colored Fillings) ideal for pleasant look and feel. In some cases, the dentists may recommend composite resin as the material for the filling since its color and texture resembles to the teeth.
- After the filling with amalgam, you should avoid grinding or chewing with the filling teeth for at least 24 hours, the duration which the material needs to fully solidify. You should also avoid hard or sticky food. A follow-up with the dentist may be needed to modify or polish the filling.
- In case of front teeth being filled, you should also avoid chewing hard or sticky food with the front teeth as the filling material may be damaged and the dentine may be affected.
- In case of extensive decay, after the filling you may feel sharp pain due to sensitivity. Extremely hot or cold food should be avoided. Generally you will experience less sharp pain in 2-3 weeks, otherwise a follow-up with the dentist is required.

The Dentist Clinic provides you with several options in orthodontics. Our dentists are specialized in Lingual, Damon and Invisalign systems.
Full Metal Braces
Metal braces are conventional equipment used in orthodontic treatment. Metal wires are inserted into orthodontic brackets to move teeth into the desired positions. With modern technology today, the wires and brackets are much smaller and come in various colors.
With lustrous and smooth surface, metal braces are simple to clean and less likely to entrap food particles.
Orthodontic treatment with metal braces is generally less expensive than orthodontics with other braces. However, metal braces are easy to spot and the patients may feel uncomfortable from the tension or friction. Frequent visits with the dentist are therefore required.
Damon braces (Damon® System) are fast, fixed cosmetic orthodontic braces that use a unique low friction mechanism that minimizes the friction and binding associated with conventional braces. They not only result in quicker treatment times for fitting braces but lighter forces and more comfortable treatment.
The Damon System uses Self-ligating braces, which remove the need for elastic or metal “ties” that provide the tension to gradually move the teeth associated with conventional braces. Damon System braces have a slide mechanism to replace elastics. It moves teeth faster, more comfortably and more easily than the conventional elastics. With Damon braces, you need fewer visits with the orthodontist.
The Dentist Clinic provides you with 3 types of braces of Damon? System: Damon 1 (all metal); Damon 2 (metal with polymer) and Damon Clear (all polymer).
Lingual braces are attached to the inside or the lingual side of the teeth which makes them completely non-visible and provides cosmetic orthodontic treatment. Located on the inside of the teeth, lingual braces do no damage to the front of the teeth and also boost improves your confidence when smiling. The period of lingual orthodontics is similar to or shorter than the traditional braces. Initially, patients may feel discomfort caused by the friction between the braces and the tongue but they should feel less so in 2-3 weeks, similarly to the discomfort caused by the friction between lips or cheeks and the traditional braces.
Light lingual braces are the advanced technology of the lingual braces with the smallest bracket profile of 1.5 mm. (the smallest lingual brackets) with the same level of orthodontic result as the original lingual braces.
Lingual braces are more costly than traditional braces while they offer aesthetic solutions for people who seek beautiful smiles without the obvious appearance of metal or ceramic brackets.
Invisalign is a custom made series of aligners made of virtually invisible and durable plastic to be placed over the teeth without any metal. With Invisalign, patients are more confidence and comfortable in their daily lives. Removal and cleaning process are more convenient that other braces.
Invisalign braces should be worn all the time including day time and night time. The only times the brace should be taken out are during brushing or during meals.
